About Xena

You've might have noticed how often I talk about my wonderful dog Xena. I think she deserves her own page so everyone can get to know her a little better.

I first saw her while I was working at a petstore. Someone brought in about 6 of these little Lab/Chow mix puppies. There were a few golden labs, a chocolate lab, and 2 black labs. As I watched all these puppies get taken home, there were only three left. Two black labs and the chocolate one. My job was to take these pups outside so they can stretch. There was a little black one that really stood out. She was so fiesty! I named her Xena even though I had no intentions on taking her home. After a couple of weeks of me playing with her, I finally took her home. I couldn't let her go home with anyone else. I knew that she had to be mine. So that's the story on how I got her. Now let me take some time to tell you about her lifestyle and her personality.

Xena was born in the middle of June sometime. So, she's about to be one year old. Watching her grow has been one of the biggest pleasures in my life. Her very first toy was a beaver. She tore it all apart, but continued to play with the cloth that use to be the beaver. She even took it to bed with her. She loved her beaver.

Xena sleeps on the bed with Nick and I even though I know that's bad. It use to be really cute when she was small,but now she's about 55 lbs. so it isn't as cute. She takes up the whole bed now. But it's okay, luckily our bed is big enough for her. The one thing I love the most about Xena is she'll always have those big ol' puppy eyes. Everytime she looks up at me, I know exactly why I fell in love with her from day one. She's a very friendly dog and loves everyone. Everytime she sees a person, she wants to say hello. She also loves other dogs. She thinks they all are her friends and she wants to play. She's a wonderful playmate even though sometimes she plays a little too rough.

One of her favorite things to do is go to the river. Just saying the word makes her very excited. She loves to run in the water and even sometimes go potty in the river. We don't understand that part. When we first took Xena to the river, she was very scared and nervous to get into the water. Until one day she tripped over something and went rolling into the water. Ever since that day, she hasn't been scared. Now it takes forever to get her out of the water. Once you pick up her leash, she knows you want her out and she'll just go running into the water and swim very far out.

Xena is a wonderful dog. Some of her many nicknames are : Xenaface, ZZ, Zee, Noodles, and big fat blob. She comes to all those names. Xena is the best dog I've ever had. I wouldn't trade her for the world. I hope you have enjoyed learning about Xena. I'm sure she'd love to meet each and every one of you!!!
